An NHS dentist when you need it and more community care
Getting an NHS dentist is increasingly a lottery, with dire consequences. The most common reason children aged five to nine are admitted to hospital is to have rotting teeth removed. This is why I made increasing access to NHS dental care in our local area a top priority.
For a sustainable future in dentistry, the government is committed to overhauling the dental contract, with a focus on prevention and the retention of NHS dentists. The government's strategy to address this issue includes providing 700,000 additional urgent dental appointments and deploying new dentists to underserved areas.
I am also committed to ensuring that everyone in the Shipley constituency can live an independent and prosperous life. Under the last government, our social care system fell into crisis. I am determined to use my expertise in the field to help the new administration improve Shipley's social care services nationwide.
